North Carolina-based professional photojournalist Sara D. Davis primarily captures life in the southeastern United States. Recent documentary work has taken her abroad to Afghanistan, Peru and Ecuador. She served several years on the North Carolina Press Photographers Association board as their contest chairman, and was an integral member in the revamping of their ethics policy, which made international headlines and stirred world-wide debate in the digital photojournalism community.
Sara has covered a wide variety of assignments from NCAA Final Fours and the Democratic National Convention to major national and international news stories around the country. Sara is currently the Atlantic Coast Conference's photo coordinator and primary photographer in championship sports coverage.
Sara graduated in 1997 from the School of Visual Communications with a specialization in photojournalism from the renowned Ohio University. A minor in anthropology compliments her degree by exploring the cultural and social customs her camera often takes her.
As a full-time freelance photographer, Sara is available for your editorial or corporate needs locally or internationally. She currently resides in Durham, North Carolina.
